I sent in an application for Neighbourhood Handyman, LLC in the State of Arizona.
This is exactly 1 month after the conception of Neighbourhood Handyman!
In testing, I found that if a handy person does not have a profile image and they show in search results, the search results would show a broken image if they did not enter their profile page and upload a profile image.
So I implemented uploading your profile image on signup. This is now a requirement. Please have one handy when you sign up! It does not have to be a picture of your face - it can be a logo or anything.
I'll explain why I use "Neighbourhood Handyman".
When I lived in Southern California, I felt it was a unique way to set myself apart.
I serviced a few celebrities like Steve Bellamy (he called me 'Hood'), of Tennis Channel fame, but before he started that, he owned Palisades Tennis Center. Funny thing is, that I was his handyman - and one of the first websites I ever built was palisadestenniscenter.com. And then I built the first rendition of thetennischannel.com.
I digress. I also serviced Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy) and Amanda Bearse (Married With Children).
People like this were drawn to me because of my name: The Neighbourhood Handyman (with a "bour").
I have expanded the reach of Neighbourhood Handyman to service the people of Canada, Ireland and the U.K.
Contractors have the ability to upload photos showcasing their work. These photos are viewed on the contractor profile search results.
